I made it to Bozeman last night. The tow truck driver was really nice and drove me around town to find a place to stay before dropping my car off at the VW dealer (I figure I lucked out by actually finding a place that services VW here). Of course, they're not open until tomorrow so I'll figure something out for today. Maybe just lay low. I was so tired yesterday (I never did eat dinner). Maybe I'll switch hotels today, too. The place I'm in is pretty low-rent. I was telling Marsha last night that it reminded me of the place we stayed in Villahermosa (Mexico) after getting evacuated from Hurricane Dean, except they speak English here! There's another place down the street that I think I might like better. We'll see if they have rooms. Though moving might be a pain with all the stuff I unloaded from the car and when it gets hot later in the day. We'll see...
I suspect my car is doing the same thing it did 3000 miles ago. The behavior is the same, but I'll have to wait until they diagnose it. Last time it was a stupid speed sensor and if it doesn't work, the car just shuts off. I guess this is giving me reason to sell the car when I get to Boston - after all, they suggested not actually bringing one (or who knows, maybe I'll just buy a new car tomorrow and continue on my way :) Eh, probably not likely, but I wouldn't put it past me.
In any case, my fingers are crossed that I'll be able to drive off again tomorrow afternoon. At this point, I probably won't take any crazy side trips (I'm feeling a little gun shy at the moment about getting *really* stuck somewhere). Maybe I'll just stick to I-90 for a little while... and get out of Montana as quick as possible; I know it's a big state, but I never thought it'd take me this long to get through it. But at least my spirits are still high... Hailey and I cruised the town this morning for a walk. There's a nice shady park we can go sit in later today and just enjoy being outside.
(By the way - I joke that after my house sold I was homeless. Now I really feel like it. With no car, I feel like I need a shopping cart to push my stuff around in :) But I'm told there aren't any real homeless people here - too cold in the winter)

Bummer, but like you said, at least they have a place in town that fixes VWs. Sure does sound like the same problem you had before. Too bad I couldn't come get you again :) At least you have Hailey for company. Fran
I seem to remember Montana hotels being surprisingly expensive-- hopefully that's not what you are finding. Lucky you there was a VW repair place nearby!
